Joining
The server runs a custom modpack — you can't connect without it. Setup takes under five minutes.
A free launcher for Windows, macOS and Linux — grab it at modrinth.com/app. It sets the whole pack up for you.
Download FactorySMP.mrpack above and drag it into the Modrinth App. It pulls all 197 mods and the matching NeoForge loader on its own.
Launch the profile, go to Multiplayer and add the server factorysmp.net. That's it — the first launch takes a little longer than usual.
Can't get in? Nine times out of ten a mod version doesn't match. Re-import the pack instead of swapping individual mods by hand.
Season 1
Create at the centre, plus roughly 180 mods picked to work with it — automation, logistics, and a few things you won't find anywhere else.
Mechanical presses, mixers, belts and factory gauges. From your first hand crank to a fully automated brass line.
Build a ship and take it into the sky. Whole structures turn into vehicles you actually steer.
Trains between bases, stations with schedules, and package logistics through the stock ticker system.
Cannons you assemble yourself, with real ballistics — from a simple mortar to a broadside on an airship.
A proper kitchen instead of bread and steak: cooking pots, cutting boards and a pile of new dishes.
Proximity voice runs on the server — whoever stands next to you hears you. No Discord call needed.
Rules
We're a small group, so this stays short. None of it is surprising — it's the stuff that keeps a server worth logging into.
Other people's bases, chests, farms and contraptions are off limits — "I was only borrowing it" included. Short on materials? Ask. Someone usually has a spare stack.
The exception: if a sign says free, take what you need or similar, help yourself — that's what it's there for. No sign, no permission. And take a fair share, not the whole chest.
No X-ray, fly hacks, auto-clickers or duping. And if a bug starts handing out free items, report it instead of farming it — that counts as cheating too.
No insults, no racism, no harassment. Voice chat included. Arguments from elsewhere stay elsewhere.
Build a good distance from the nearest base unless you've agreed to be neighbours. Don't box someone in, and don't claim half a biome you're not using.
Endless item loops, giant mob farms and permanently chunk-loaded contraptions slow the server for everyone. Ask before you build one, and switch it off when you're done.
Fill in the strip mines near spawn, light the paths you use, and don't abandon half-finished projects on the main routes.
First slip is usually just a conversation — most things are a misunderstanding. Deliberate griefing, stealing or cheating isn't: that's a ban, and we roll the damage back. The server log and the backups decide what happened, not who argues loudest.
